Removal of Radio Line of Sight Equipment from a Major UK Car Plant
The project was to remove the clients out of date radio line of sight equipment, consisting of large antennae (5ft in diameter), and racks of radio and microwave equipment.
The procedure involved tower climbing, safe removal of racks and antennae, transportation of hazardous substances (eg. lead acid batteries) ensuring that all requirements of transporting hazardous substances were met.
When returned to base, any recoverable or reuseable parts were sent for processing by the recycling specialist, where it was broken down into precious metal, base metal, and any waste disposed of safely and within regulations.
